An IT company run by Indian-Americans has been entrusted with the task to fix the problem-plagued website for President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms. 


Online insurance exchanges launched on October 1 under the 2010 Affordable Care Act, often called " Obamacare," to offer health insurance plans to millions of uninsured people in the US.

Google’s Nexus 5, Android 4.4 KitKat launch delayed:

Google's launch of the Nexus 5smartphone and Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system has been delayed by a month. 

It is expected that Google will now make the announcement in November, instead of October 28 as planned earlier, according to a report by Phones Review website. 

Earlier, there had been media reports and also hints from KitKat's Twitter account that both the products would be launched on October 28.

Sony launches NFC lens-style cameras for smartphones:

Sony has unveiled a family of photographic zoom lenses with integrated image sensors that can be connected to Android or iOS smartphones, via NFC and WiFi, to provide a high quality, DSLR-like camera experience.
Speaking at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Kazuo Hirai, president and CEO of Sony Corporation, said that the QX100 will use a Carl Zeiss lens with 1.0-inch type Exmor R CMOS sensor offering 20.2 megapixels, while the QX10 is a smaller Sony G Lens with 1/2.3-inch sensor providing 18.2 megapixels.

Twitter hired NBC News digital executive Vivian Schiller as the head of news after months of speculation since the social media platform posted a job listing for the position last spring. 

"Excited to join @Twitter as Head of News in January. Leaving @NBCNews at year's end. Grateful to my beloved colleagues for 2+ great years," Schiller tweeted on Thursday.

Facebook becoming a key source of news:

Facebook is becoming a key source of news for users of the huge social network, even if people discover articles mostly by happenstance, a study showed. 

The study by the Pew Research Center, in collaboration with the Knight Foundation, found 64% of US adults use Facebook, and nearly half of those get some news from the service. 

That amounts to 30% of the overall US population who are "Facebook news consumers," Pew said.

Samsung posts record profit in Q3:


 Samsung Electronics's quarterly operating profit surged 26% to a new record, matching estimates and powered by a strong recovery in its memory chip business as smartphone sales growth eases sharply. 


The smartphone leader has posted a record profit in six of the past seven quarters but may find it hard to extend its winning streak without a new hit gadget, after less-than-spectacular launches of its Galaxy Gear smartwatch and Galaxy Round curved phone in recent months.
